Why it’s here

A home base for FeedTahoe that makes large food rescues easy and brings volunteers together. With pallet-scale storage and repackaging space, FeedTahoe can accept more donations, reduce food waste, and move more good food to partners across South Lake Tahoe. This will include Tahoe’s only dedicated walk-in emergency food storage space, to help our community respond quickly to food insecurity, severe weather, and urgent needs.

How a food rescue moves

From a donation to a neighbor’s table.

A home base for FeedTahoe that makes large food rescues easy. Here is the journey through the room.

  1. Step 1: Rescue

    A big donation comes in.

    Pallet-scale storage means FeedTahoe can say yes to large food rescues, and accept more donations.

  2. Step 2: Keep

    It stays fresh.

    A walk-in fridge and freezer, a blast chiller and dry pallet shelving keep good food from going to waste.

  3. Step 3: Repack

    Volunteers repack it.

    Repackaging stations, prep tables and sinks turn pallets into parcels, and bring volunteers together.

  4. Step 4: Share

    It reaches partners across town.

    More good food moves out to partners across South Lake Tahoe.

  5. Step 5: Ready

    And it’s there when Tahoe needs it most.

    Tahoe’s only dedicated walk-in emergency food storage, to help our community respond quickly to food insecurity, severe weather and urgent needs.
